is poised to be the premier financier of start-up and early stage
e-commerce ideas in Asia. We are committed to convert the best internet
related concepts into viable businesses.
We carefully select
our entrepreneurs and guide them to come up with potent business
models and flexible operations. Because we intend to work very closely
with our entrepreneurs and investees, we intend to invest in only
about 5 projects a year beginning 2001 with this volume growing
to abut 20% a year.
Portfolio Parameters
Approximately 60% of
our funds are/will be invested directly in electronic commerce while
40% will target internet infrastructure projects and other internet
ventures of experimental nature.
In the long-term, we
expect to derive 65% of our returns from capital appreciation and
35% from stabilized income.
Due to our significant
proportion of returns to be sourced from operating income, we seek
to invest in projects with huge organic growth potential in the
short or medium-term.
Exit Mechanisms
Depending on the nature
of business of our invested projects as well as the varying goals
of our investors, we intend to hold our investments on a long-term
basis. We intend to realize returns from our investment through
the following means:
- Initial Public Offering
(IPO)
- Secondary Share
Offering through Private Placements or Block Sale (if a public
company)
- Founders' Buy-back
option
- Operating Profits
(Open-ended investments)
- Share Swap
